Former Manchester City defender Lescott believes his former club is unlikely to experience the turmoil that followed managerial changes at Manchester United and Arsenal.
Manchester City parted ways with Pep Guardiola this summer and welcomed new manager Maresca. Guardiola led Manchester City to 20 trophies, including six Premier League titles and the club's first-ever Champions League trophy in the 2022/23 season.
Lescott believes that Manchester City are well-prepared for the post-Guardiola era, giving them an advantage over other clubs facing the departure of legendary managers.
When asked if he was worried about Manchester United's situation after Sir Alex Ferguson's departure, or if Arsenal's struggles after Arsène Wenger's departure would be repeated at Manchester City, Lescott said: "I think that's unlikely. Of course, nothing is absolute, but considering the club's position, I think it's even less likely."
"The club has changed managers before. Although we were not as successful as Guardiola in those years, the club has been preparing for the next stage and the next step of development over the past 15 years. So I don't think we will stagnate like other clubs."
"Manchester City need to remain competitive. Obviously, I can't guarantee they will succeed, but I expect the team and manager to have a positive season and compete for all the titles."
"I do think they can get something, but I don't know what it will be yet."
Lescott then spoke about Rodri: "Look, if he really leaves, it'll be a huge void to fill, but Anderson can bring something different, and I think that's the key. I don't think he has to do the same thing in the same way."

Regarding Foden, Lescott said, "This is a very important season. I think every season is important."
“We must understand that this will be Foden’s second and newest manager at the club. Other players have worked with different managers and know how different coaches work, but Foden has not experienced this.”
"Judging from the footage and his online activity, he seems very happy, which is important. He's the kind of person who's extremely committed to the game, so if he's in a happy state when it comes to football, then he'll be fine."
Despite the fact that Manchester City is no longer considered a favorite to win the Premier League title, Lescott stated: "I don't think it will make any difference. The expectations within the club remain the same. Manchester City will still aspire to win the title and remain competitive."
