According to talkSPORT, former Chelsea striker Michy Batshuayi is about to leave Eintracht Frankfurt for a move to the Saudi professional league. He is currently expected to join a Saudi club whose name has not yet been announced.
If the transfer goes through, it will be the 11th club in the 32-year-old Batshuayi's career. The Belgian international started his career at Standard Liège, moved to Marseille in 2014, and joined Celtics two years later.
Michy Batshuayi made 77 appearances for Chelsea, scoring 25 goals. In the 2016/17 season, he helped the team win the Premier League title, contributing 5 goals in the league. That season, Antonio Conte led Chelsea to the championship, but Batshuayi only played 236 minutes in the Premier League throughout the entire season.
His most important goal came against West Bromwich Albion, where Batshuayi came off the bench and scored the winning goal, helping Chelsea secure the Premier League title early. However, after leaving Chelsea, he harbored considerable resentment towards Conte's personnel decisions.
In a 2022 interview, Batshuayi said of Conte: "Conte is always contradictory. When he first took over Chelsea, he called me to explain his plans, saying that he wanted me to form a strike partnership with Diego Costa."
"Do I believe him? Of course I do. Because in his previous coaching career, Conte has always used a two-striker system. But when he worked with me at Chelsea, he didn't do that. I still don't understand it. To be honest, I've been fooled far too many times."
