Rooney: My nasal bone repair surgery is complete; Manchester United still need to add 4 players.

According to The Mirror, Rooney recently underwent nasal surgery and stated that Manchester United still needs to strengthen four positions this summer.

Manchester United legend Wayne Rooney revealed that he finally underwent corrective surgery on his nose last week, eight years later. Rooney injured his nose in 2018 while playing for Major League Soccer team D.C. United, but did not receive corrective surgery at the time. The 40-year-old Rooney then continued his playing career, playing for Derby County, D.C. United, Birmingham City, and Plymouth Argyle, before transitioning to coaching and now entering the media world.

In the first episode of Stick to United, Rooney said: "I had nose surgery last week. I was lucky, I didn't get any dark circles. But I still have two plastic tubes in my nose, which will be removed soon, I can't wait. This area was also cut open, so it's all stitched up. It's just a little uncomfortable."

He continued, “I broke my nose in the FA Cup match against Preston. Everyone was talking about the Wade Barrett incident because it looked a bit like a dive. I won a penalty, and I broke my nose in that game. Then I broke my nose again at D.C. United, and that time it was more serious. I needed surgery, but I kept putting it off. I wanted to put the World Cup on hold this summer and then do it. I finally had it last week, and the surgery went well, but these tubes are so uncomfortable, they're still in there.” Rooney made these remarks when asked about Manchester United's summer transfer activity. He believes the team still needs to strengthen four positions before deadline.

He said: "I think Luke Shaw played very well last season, but he didn't perform well against AC Milan. So I don't think you can expect Luke Shaw to be consistent all season."

"This reminds me of Lewis Skelley, who was said to be undervalued. I think this is a deal that should not be hesitated."

"If you can sign a player who can play both left-back and midfield, and he is young and has a bright future, then I think there is no need to hesitate about making that signing."

"I would like to see another center-back, a midfielder, and a striker."

"So I think there's still a lot of work to be done, but more importantly, Manchester United has to make the right signings."
