According to Sky Sports, Bayern Munich remains the favorite for the new Bundesliga season, but Hamann believes they may not be able to clinch the title in early or mid-April.

Hamann is unsure whether Bayern Munich can maintain their significant lead over teams like Dortmund, RB Leipzig, and Stuttgart in the 2026/27 Bundesliga title race. He listed several reasons for his doubts to Sky Sports.

Hamann said, "Of course, they have made great progress under Kompany. He has successfully restored calm to the dressing room. But in Munich, many times a small change can make all the difference." He did not rule out the possibility of underlying problems within the team.

Hamann also cautioned about the need to pay attention to competitors, but he was also aware that the pursuers were unlikely to be able to maintain constant pressure on Bayern Munich on their own. A single mistake or two by Bayern could quickly change the situation.

Will Bayern Munich have a slow start?

When asked about Bayern's prospects of winning another blitzkrieg title, Hamann said, "I will remain cautious," while also keeping an eye on several of the team's star players, who have been under immense pressure throughout the summer due to the World Cup.

Hamann said: "Michael Olise and Harry Kane both had long seasons, playing all the way to the final stages of the World Cup, although neither of them played in the final. Luis Diaz also played for Colombia for an even longer period. We'll see how they start the new season."

The Sky Sports expert concluded, "I am now more inclined to believe that Bayern will not win the title with a 10-point or larger lead."
