With competition for his signature heating up, Nwaneri may transfer to Bayer Leverkusen and shine in the Bundesliga. talkSPORT reported last weekend that the Arsenal starlet is expected to leave before the transfer window closes.
Arteta did not include Nwaneri in the 20-man squad for Arsenal's 3-0 Community Shield victory over Manchester City on Sunday.
This Arsenal academy graduate only started four times and made a total of 12 appearances for Arsenal in the first half of last season before gradually falling out of favor.
“Leverkusen has a lot of players, a lot of good players, so you have to compete for positions,” Blasser told talkSPORT. “There’s no doubt about that. But they are definitely looking for players in that position.”
