In an interview with Barcelona TV, Barcelona player Frenkie de Jong responded to some rumors.

Journalist Romero revealed that De Jong refused to play for Barcelona in the Champions League match against Atletico Madrid last season, and also stated that De Jong's relationship with coach Flick was complicated.

De Jong denied these claims. In an interview with Barcelona TV, he stated, "Gerard Romero first announced, and he himself started it all, that I refused to play against Atletico Madrid in the Champions League last year. This is not true, it's completely false."

De Jong also expressed his bewilderment at the rumors circulating about a deterioration in his relationship with Flick. He stated, "Romero said my relationship with the coach is very bad, but that's false. In fact, my relationship with him is very good."

Currently, De Jong is still recovering from a previous knee injury, and Barcelona cannot yet determine when he will be able to return to the field.
