According to Diario Sport, FC Barcelona will pay tribute to eight World Cup-winning players at their home stadium next Thursday, August 27, and the World Cup trophy that Spain won this summer will also be present.
Rodri, Joan Garcia, Eric Garcia, Cubas, Gavi, Olmo, Pedri, and Yamar will all receive special recognition after Spain wins the final in New York/New Jersey on July 19.
The Spanish Football Federation has decided to bring the celebrations to the home stadiums of La Liga teams. President Rafael Luzan has already sent letters to clubs with World Cup-winning players, inviting them to include the trophy in the tribute activities.
Barcelona will participate in this event along with Atletico Madrid, Athletic Bilbao, Real Madrid, Real Sociedad, and Celta Vigo.
This tribute from Barcelona carries particular weight because it involves a large number of national team players associated with the club. Up to eight players will be honored by fans for their contributions to Spain's return to the top of world football.
This includes Pedri, Gave, Cubas and Yamal, who are the core of Barcelona now and in the future, as well as Olmo, Eric Garcia, Joan Garcia and Rodri.
The World Cup trophy will arrive at Barcelona's home stadium at 9 p.m. Beijing time on August 27th. This is a touring exhibition aimed at allowing club fans who contribute players to the national team to share in the joy of the championship.
The tour will kick off this Wednesday at the Wanda Metropolitano Stadium, where Atlético Madrid will pay tribute to Mark Puvil, Grimaldo, Marcos Llorente, and Baena.
The trophy will then travel to San Mamés, the Bernabéu Stadium, and Barcelona, before continuing to San Sebastián and Vigo.
Luzan stated that the Spanish Football Federation hopes that different fan groups can also feel "that they are part of Spain's victory."
After the initial events at La Liga stadiums, the trophy will tour different regions of Spain. The Spanish Football Federation stated that it has received hundreds of applications from public institutions, organizations, and sports entities requesting to display the World Cup.
