In an interview with Sky Sports, O'Reilly spoke highly of Guardiola's achievements and his influence on him.

Regarding last season's performance

I've already reviewed last season. I really enjoyed it and played very well. Many people say it was my breakthrough season. I played a lot of games and ultimately made the World Cup squad.

Clearly, we've won two trophies with Manchester City, but fell short in the Premier League. However, the new season will bring new goals and new pursuits.

That was the first time I'd ever played a full season. As I said, I really enjoyed it. Long seasons can last 10 to 11 months, and sometimes it's really tough. Especially the last four weeks, playing three games a week, can be exhausting. But overall, it was a very enjoyable experience.

About the World Cup

That was an incredible, crazy experience I'll remember for the rest of my life. Playing in the World Cup in the US was amazing. The facilities, the teams, and the team spirit we showed all impressed me deeply. Team spirit was key for me. Overall, it was a fantastic experience.

I would say the most memorable time was when we played at the Aztec Stadium. It was so crazy; I've never played in such a noisy stadium.

The fans were absolutely crazy. At the end of the game, we were singing "Walk with the Wind" with them, and we were in Mexico, winning like that. At that moment, you just have to feel and enjoy it all. I think it was then that I truly began to realize what I had accomplished throughout the season and where I was as a player.

Regarding Guardiola

I believe he is the greatest coach in history. Playing under his guidance and with his help and support during my first-team career and football journey was incredibly beneficial and helped me grow into who I am today. As I said, I learned a great deal from him.

Whenever I needed help, I would go to him. He was always there to support me and answer my questions. In the long run, this helped me a lot. It's special to be able to say that I worked under Guardiola and received his help. Now there's a documentary about him that's been released. I was very excited after just watching a few clips. The documentary tells the story of his last two seasons, and I was with Manchester City's first team for the past two seasons, so I experienced it all firsthand. Looking back and reliving that experience should be very rewarding.

Regarding Maresca

Change can be difficult at times, but it can also be fun, and sometimes even exciting. I've enjoyed every minute of it so far. He's goal-oriented, ambitious, and eager to win. We want to win too, so that's what we're striving for. He's a very demanding coach.

He knows exactly what he wants and will never compromise on anything. So I think the future looks very bright. He tells us what we need to do tactically and is always involved on the field. He is truly an excellent coach.

He'll be walking around the training field. However, at least since I arrived, he hasn't participated in any group scrimmage. But I'm sure he will, I'm sure he will.

Rodri's departure

This is very sad. Rodri is an excellent player; everyone knows how good he is. He's a Ballon d'Or winner, the World Cup's best player, and with him around, everyone can play more easily. He controls the game. Now it's time to make adjustments, and obviously we've signed some new players ourselves, and who knows if anyone else will join. So, yes, we have to wait patiently.

Do you want to play in midfield?

Yes, 100%, I really want to play midfield. I've played that position since I was a kid, and I played quite a few games in midfield last season. I think I'm a very adaptable player; I can play left-back, midfield, and defensive midfield. I only played midfield in the youth academy and had never played left-back before, but I think my height and physique would make it easier for me to adapt to that position.

Regarding Elliott Anderson

Elliott is an exceptionally good player. I'm thrilled he's here and can't wait to play alongside him. I played with him during the World Cup, so I know his style of play quite well. He's a very complete player, performing exceptionally well both with and without the ball. I think he'll fit perfectly into the team and everything here.

New season goals

I just want to be the best player, and I want to do everything I can to help the team. We want to win every championship, that's obvious. I also want to score more goals, provide more assists, and in short, do everything I can to help the team.
