As The Athletic reported earlier this week, the U15 World Cup, with 211 participating teams, is indeed in the planning stages. In a video released by FIFA this Sunday, Gianni Infantino confirmed during a recent trip to the Caribbean that he plans to launch this brand-new youth tournament this year, open to all football associations.
Infantino promised, "This will be a grand event for young people, with over 4,000 children playing football together here." He added, "A lot has happened in the past few weeks, and it's important that you listen and express your feelings. Overall, the situation is very positive. I'm happy to have everyone's support here.
