Harry Kane is the frontrunner for the Ballon d'Or. According to Sky Sports' interviews with several key figures at Bayern Munich and Kane himself over the past week, Bayern's focus on this trophy is just as high as that of their England captain.

Ahead of the Franz Beckenbauer Super Cup match against Borussia Dortmund, Sky Sports interviewed Bayern Munich's sporting director, Christoph Freund, who was clear on the topic: "I think he deserves the Ballon d'Or. He's had a fantastic season."

Sky Sports then asked Bayern Munich executive board member Ruben Kasper, who went a step further. "The Ballon d'Or can only belong to Harry Kane. We'll just give it to Harry." Bayern are pushing Kane to win the Ballon d'Or, and they already have a new contract on their table, hoping the outside world will see their full support.

After the Dortmund match, Sky Sports asked Kane for his thoughts on the matter, and he admitted that he felt the club's support. "I can feel the club's love for me, I know how much they value me. It's not just my goals, I think it's also my overall performance, and my value as a member of the dressing room, it's all about that."

Kane's highest ranking in the Ballon d'Or voting has never been higher than 10th, but this is his best chance yet.
