Extremela da Amadora announced on Tuesday that a 90% stake in the Portuguese Primeira Liga club, located northwest of Lisbon, has been acquired by a consortium that includes four former Bayern Munich players: Lucas Hernandez, Thomas Müller, Jan Sommer, and Mats Hummels. The four jointly invested in an international consortium led by investment companies ADvantage and LEAD, and supported by the KI Group. Hernandez (30), Müller (36), and Sommer (37), while having left Bavaria, continued playing in the later stages of their careers, while Hummels, now 37, played for Bayern Munich at different stages of their careers. They all know Johannes Mosmann, who worked within Bayern's organizational structure for 10 years, serving as player manager, and is now the new president of Extremela. The Portuguese club has competed in the top flight since its promotion to the Primeira Liga in 2023, successfully avoiding relegation for four consecutive seasons, finishing in the bottom half of the table each time.

The team also features four French players: Lucas Mincarelli (formerly of Montpellier), Thomas Mustier (formerly of Marseille), Emerson Wanga (formerly of Lyon), and Benito Souza (formerly of Le Havre). Eddy, a cousin of De Sciglio and Guillaume Dué, also plays for Extrema.
